ABOUT  FRESCOC

The Free State Council of Churches (FRESCOC) comprises of various denominations which in unison strive to work towards socio-economic upliftment of the communities in the Free State Province of South Africa. This is done in view that the Church is responsible not only for the spiritual wellbeing of ordinary people in society but also for the general welfare of the community.  We also recognize the obligation that the State has towards its citizens and pledge in faith action to partner with Government on all levels of governance – local, provincial and national in furthering the interest of society.

The church has always been a refuge and a voice for oppressed people in the apartheid and colonialism era and will continue to be the voice of the people even in the new democratic dispensation. 
Our aim is to be ‘bona fide’ partners with the state in ensuring that services are rendered to people in line with the aspirations of ‘The Freedom Charter’ and the Constitution.
